Write Them on the Doorposts

Doorposts is having a contest you can check it out and enter but you only have a few more days. What a fun idea!

If you came to my house you would see dirty walls and probably a lot of shoes all over the floor although we are working on that. On those dirty walls next to the entryway light switch under the key hanger you would see these two verses, Proverbs 22:4 and Proverbs 23:17.

Now look to your left, the divider wall between the kitchen and family room says, "Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight." Isaiah 5:21
We did these with water colors and salt. The children painted and I wrote.
OOOOO now this one stands next to the bathroom door, a great place for mama to meet any quick-tempered little man or woman. Of course I actually put this one up for myself, when will I ever learn this one???? Isaiah 5:21
Oh see how old this one is, of course I made it to look old but it really has hung here for at least 5 years. 'Though wilt show me the path of life, in thy presence is fullness of joy....' Psalms 16:11
Wow! I want that fullness of joy. In His presence, His word all over the house all over my heart...fill this house with Joy!!!

OK don't notice the greasy cupboards or the fact that Job 42:1-6 is about to fall off. My baby was named Job because these were the verses that the Lord gave me during my pregnancy. Also below that passage is Philippians 4:11 reminding me always to be content right where God has me. These are in my kitchen. Also on this cupboard is Proverbs 26:17
Again, a little more encouragement to all who help in the kitchen. They can also practice their numbers in ASL.
This is another cupboard. James 5:7-8 is tucked in under the bottom of a valentine my Noah made me years and years ago.
Fridge. Romans 14:17 hung up by the ten commandments. My husband says they are the first original ten that Moses broke when throwing them to the ground :) See Job's fingers? Now you know how the magnet really broke in half.
Names and meanings. My mom and dad had one for each of their 5 children and I always loved knowing the meaning to my name. Raymie-Wise Spirit and verse is "Wait in the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; yea wait for the Lord!" Psalm 27:14 If you know our family you know that a few of us are missing. A few were knocked down and are waiting to be repaired. Each one has their own special verse. Missing from the wall are Isaac, Micah, Simeon and Job. Each child knows their name meaning and amazingly they all fit so be careful what you name your children. Names should bless and have purpose.
Now here I sit blogging and next to my computer is this Proverbs. She opens her mouth with wisdom and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looks well to the ways of her household, and eats not of the bread of idleness. (The computer would fall under the category of idleness, amen!?) Her children arise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and her praises her.
Job 36:11 is next to the door leading into the garage. The children go out this door to do their chores and Joe and I pass by to get to our computers. Right here is the key to prosperity and contentment!
